Will I overheat in this at night?
Modal is one of the cooler fabrics you can sleep in. It pulls moisture away from the skin and releases it rather than holding it in, so even if you wake up warm the fabric itself is not adding to it. If you run hot in pregnancy or postpartum this is specifically the right choice in the collection.
Is the nursing opening easy to use half-asleep in the dark?
Yes, and that was the point. The crossover V-neck has a single hidden button at the centre. One hand, one motion. You do not need to fully wake up to use it and it closes back the same way. There are no poppers, no fiddly clips, nothing that requires two hands or good coordination at 3am.
I do not usually wear nightdresses. Will this feel strange to sleep in?
The cut is closer to a soft slip dress than a traditional nightdress. The pleated skirt moves with you and does not bunch or twist when you roll over. Most women who are sceptical of nightdresses find this one wears more like a long t-shirt than anything structured, because the modal is so light and the skirt falls without volume.
Will it go see-through?
The ribbed modal at this weight has natural opacity and the cup pocket insert adds a layer at the chest. We recommend checking it against a light source when your order arrives. If you have any concerns the insert resolves the chest area entirely.
Does the cup pocket stay in place during the night?
The pocket is built into the lining of the neckline, not floating loose inside the garment. The insert sits in a fixed position and does not shift when you move or turn over. If you prefer not to use it, it is removable.
How does it wash? Will it lose its softness?
Modal actually gets softer with washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, hang to dry, and it will not pill or stiffen. Avoid tumble drying as it can affect the elastane over time, but otherwise it is a very low-maintenance fabric.
Is this suitable for hospital or only for home?
It works well as a hospital bag piece. The nursing access is easy for skin-to-skin and feeding, the midi length is modest and non-restrictive, and it is soft enough for the first days postpartum. It is not a medical garment so it does not replace any post-surgical guidance, but for a straightforward birth it is a practical and comfortable option.
