What kinds of activity is this bra designed for?
Low to moderate impact movement: prenatal yoga, pilates, walking, light stretching and conditioning. The racerback keeps the straps in place through all of these. It is not designed for running or high-impact exercise, where a dedicated sports bra with higher compression would be more appropriate.
How does the racerback feel as the bump grows?
Better than a standard strap for most women. Because the straps cross at the back rather than running straight over the shoulder, the weight distributes more evenly and there is no band or structure pulling forward as the bump grows. Most women find the racerback silhouette more comfortable in the second and third trimester than a conventional style.
How is this different from the other bras in the collection?
It is the only bra in the Alma Nueva range built for movement. The racerback stops the straps sliding mid-class, the 3D moulded cups give proper support during activity rather than soft padding, and the nursing access is there when you need it without the bra getting in the way the rest of the time. The other bras in the collection are for everyday wear. This one is for when you are moving.
How does the nursing access work when you are mid-movement?
The clip sits at the front of the shoulder where it is easy to reach even with the straps crossed behind you. One hand, press and release, the cup folds down. It is quicker in practice than it sounds and works just as well at the end of a class as it does at home.
Will the cups hold their shape during a session?
Yes. The 3D moulded cups are pre-shaped from a firmer material than the soft padding used in the rest of the collection. They do not flatten during movement or shift inside the cup pocket. They can be removed for washing or taken out entirely if you prefer a less structured look on rest days.
Does it work as an everyday bra as well?
Yes, and a lot of women wear it that way. The racerback silhouette works well under round-neck tops, and the black and beige colourways are easy to wear every day. The main difference you will notice compared to the other bras is the firmer cup and the slightly more structured fit at the band, which some women prefer and others find too much for pure rest days. If you want something softer for staying home, The Cotton Nursing Bra is the better call.
