How soon after birth can I wear this?
Once you are comfortable wearing firm compression, typically from six weeks onward for vaginal births and longer after a c-section. This brief is firmer than The High-Waist Recovery Brief and is designed for wearing under real clothes rather than for recovery or rest. If you are still in the early weeks, The Leak-Proof Postpartum Brief or The High-Waist Recovery Brief will be more appropriate.
How firm is the compression?
Firmer than the other briefs in the range. The waist panel holds the abdomen firmly in place rather than offering light support. It should feel contained without being painful or restricting your breathing. If it feels too tight across the abdomen or you cannot take a full breath comfortably, size up.
Will it press on my c-section scar?
The waistband sits at the natural waist, above most c-section incisions. The seamless construction means there are no seams or stitching pressing directly on the scar. However, because the compression is firmer than the other briefs in the range, it is worth checking with your doctor or midwife before wearing it if your scar is still tender or healing.
Which cut should I choose, the brief or the long leg?
It depends entirely on what you are wearing on top. The brief cut works under trousers, jeans, and tailored pieces where the leg opening will not show. The long leg works under dresses, skirts, and anything where you want a smooth line from waist to upper thigh and no fabric shifting or riding up. Both cuts give the same waist and abdominal hold. The difference is only at the leg.
Will it stay up during a full day of wear?
Yes. An anti-slip silicone strip runs along the inside of the waistband specifically to prevent rolling or folding down during wear. This is the feature that separates it from a standard high-waist brief, which can lose its position over the course of a long day.
How is this different from The High-Waist Recovery Brief?
Both are high-waist postpartum briefs but they serve different moments. The High-Waist Recovery Brief offers light support and warmth for daily life in the earlier postpartum weeks. This one is firmer, designed for wearing under real clothes when you want a flat, contained feeling for a full day out. Most women use both at different stages.
Does it show under fitted clothing?
No. The seamless nylon construction has no seam lines and sits flush against the skin. In black or nude it does not show through clothing. The long leg version is specifically built to eliminate any visible line or bunching at the thigh under skirts and dresses.
